MyPosDisplay

A lightweight customer-facing display for your shop till — mirrors the sale live and hands the customer their receipt.

Android

Overview

Turn a spare Android tablet into a customer-facing screen for the till. As staff ring up a sale, the display shows the items and running total in real time; when payment completes it thanks the customer and offers their receipt. It pairs to the till by scanning a QR code and stays in sync through the cloud, so it reconnects on its own instead of dropping out. Companion to MyShopAdmin.

Release history

  1. v1.0.2build 12 · 2026-08-26 · android

    - **New: the display now checks in with the till, so the POS can show whether it is connected.** The till previously had no way of knowing whether the display was receiving anything — which is exactly how the wrong-database fault in build 10 went unnoticed for over two weeks. - The display announces itself every 30 seconds, and the instant it wakes from sleep. On the till, the TV icon in the POS top bar turns **green** while those check-ins keep arriving and **red** if they stop for more than about a minute and a half. - Deliberately slow to complain: it allows several missed check-ins before going red, so a brief wi-fi blip doesn't cry wolf. - Requires MyShopAdmin build 107 or later on the till, which is the half that shows the indicator.

  2. v1.0.1build 10 · 2026-08-20 · android

    - **Fixed: the display paired with the till but never showed the sale.** It scanned the QR, reported the till, went straight to the welcome screen and stayed there — however many times you re-paired, and on a brand-new tablet too. - **The two apps were reading different databases.** The shop's data was moved from the US to the EU (London) on 3 August for speed and to keep UK customer data in the UK. This app was written at the same time and was left pointing at the old US database, so the till published each sale to the EU database while the display watched the very same sale in the old one — and found nothing. - Nothing was wrong with pairing, the QR code, permissions or the store: they were all correct throughout. A missing document looks exactly like an idle till, which is why it showed the welcome screen rather than an error. - The display now uses the same database as the till, and there is a single place in the code that decides which — so the two cannot drift apart again. - **The shop logo was affected by the same fault** and should now appear on the live sale. - **No re-pairing needed.** Install this build and ring an item through the till. - **New: the display now checks in with the till, so the POS can show a green light when it's connected.** The till previously had no way of knowing whether the display was receiving anything — which is exactly how the fault above went unnoticed. The display now announces itself every 30 seconds (and the instant it wakes), and the POS shows a green TV icon while those check-ins keep arriving, red when they stop. - **Fixed a white strip across the top of the screen.** A thin white band showed above the screensaver, the welcome screen and the live sale (in the status-bar area). Those screens now fill edge-to-edge — black to the top on the screensaver, the shop's navy header to the top on a sale. - **Help now shows the app version and build number.** The Help screen has the standard Burlea footer at the bottom — "Version X — Build N", a support email and copyright — so you can tell at a glance exactly which build a tablet is running.

  3. v1.0.0build 8 · 2026-07-20 · android

    - **Shows the shop's logo, not its name in text.** When the store has a logo set (Settings — branding in MyShopAdmin), the customer display now shows that logo across the top of the live sale instead of the shop name in plain text. Stores with no logo still show the name as before, and if the logo can't be loaded it falls back to the name.

  4. v1.0.0build 7 · 2026-07-20 · android

    - **Prices no longer wrap or overflow at larger text sizes.** With the display's text size turned up, a line total like " — 149.95" was breaking onto a second line (" — 149.9 / 5"). Prices now always render whole on a single line, the long product name shortens with an ellipsis if space is tight, and the auto-zoom no longer over-enlarges a small sale to the point a row can't fit across the screen. - **Check for updates from settings.** The settings sheet now has a "Check for updates" button that checks on demand whether a newer version has been released and, if so, offers to install it there and then (the same update the app checks for automatically in the background). It says when you're already up to date, and tells you clearly if it can't reach the update server. - **Help button in settings.** A new "Help" button explains, in plain terms, what the display is and how to use it — pairing to a till via the QR code, the receipt options at payment (email / print / QR), the settings, and the screensaver. - **Proper app icon.** The app now has a brand-compliant icon — the navy Burlea tile with a white line-art monitor showing a receipt — replacing the generic default Flutter icon on the tablet's home screen.

  5. v1.0.0build 6 · 2026-07-17 · android

    - **Newest item stays in view.** On a long sale the display now lists the most-recently-scanned item at the top, so the line staff just rang up is always visible instead of scrolling off the bottom — at any text size.

  6. v1.0.0build 5 · 2026-07-17 · android

    - **Reach the display's settings again — the gear is now clearly visible.** The settings gear (top-right) was so faint it looked like there were no options at all; it's now visible at a glance while still staying out of the customer's way. - **Set the display's text size.** Settings — Text size lets you scale the whole display from 100% up to 175%, so customers can read it from across the counter. Remembered across restarts. - **Auto-zoom to fit the sale.** New Settings — "Auto-zoom to fit" (on by default): the customer display now grows a small sale to fill the screen — so a single product is no longer marooned in the middle of a big tablet — and shrinks a large sale so more of it shows at once, scrolling only when a very long basket still won't fit. Turn it off for a fixed size.

  7. v1.0.0build 4 · 2026-07-14 · android

    - **Choose the display's theme (Light / Dark / Classic / High Contrast).** The customer display no longer just follows the phone's system light/dark setting — tap the settings gear (top-right) — Appearance to pick a theme, and it's remembered across restarts. It now defaults to **Light**, so a phone left in dark mode no longer leaves the display looking gloomy or hard to read.

  8. v1.0.0build 3 · 2026-07-14 · android

    - **Customer display now lays out properly on a phone.** On a narrow phone screen the sale item's name was squeezed into a tiny column and broke mid-word (e.g. "Bladn / och"). The "quantity — price" now drops to a line beneath each item's name so the name gets the full width and reads cleanly. (Tablet displays are unchanged.) - **Screensaver to protect the display.** After 5 minutes idle on the welcome screen, the display dims to a black screen with the shop name/logo drifting slowly around it (so nothing burns into the panel). It wakes back to the live sale the instant staff ring up an item on the till.

  9. v1.0.0build 2 · 2026-07-14 · android

    - **First release — customer-facing display.** A lightweight Android app that turns a spare tablet into a customer-facing screen for the shop till. Sign in with a store account, scan the till's "Pair customer display" QR, and it mirrors the live sale as staff ring it up. When payment completes it thanks the customer and offers their receipt: email (they type it while you scan; Shopify emails it), print (prints at the till), or a QR they scan to open it on their own phone. Connects through the store's existing cloud sync, so it reconnects on its own and doesn't drop out. Supports Android 6.0+.
