MyYouTubeTamer

Make YouTube live chat readable — filter the noise, follow people, moderate and reply, all from a multi-column dashboard.

AndroidWindowsWeb

Overview

YouTube live chat moves too fast to follow — questions, jokes and spam all scroll past in one blur. MyYouTubeTamer sits on top of any public live stream and turns that firehose into something you can actually read: filter to just the questions, hide emote-only spam, focus on the owner and moderators, follow individual people and @mention threads, and watch several filtered views side by side. Sign in with Google to load your own subscriptions, reply in chat, and run moderator tools — all on either the app’s shared quota or your own YouTube API key.

Features

Read the room

  • Connect to any public YouTube live stream by URL or video id
  • Live, auto-scrolling chat with owner and moderator messages highlighted
  • Questions marked automatically so they never get lost
  • Watch the stream inside the app in an embedded video window (quarter, mini or fill), or pop out to a tab
  • Stop and resume the live feed to pause updates (and save quota); it reconnects automatically after a blip

Filter the noise

  • Show only questions, or only the owner and moderators
  • Hide emote-only and one-word spam with a single toggle
  • Focus on a topic — audio, video, PC specs, how-to, pricing
  • Create your own “messages containing …” keyword filters, saved and reusable
  • Search across every column to find a user or comment fast

Multi-column dashboard

  • Monitor one chat through several side-by-side columns, each with its own filter
  • Drag to reorder columns; set each column’s width and stack multiple cells at full/half/quarter height
  • Split a column into 2 or 4 tiles for instant stacked, independently-filtered views
  • Your whole layout is saved between sessions

Follow people & threads

  • Tap anyone to follow them — see only their messages and the replies aimed at them
  • Replies that @mention someone are grouped into threads
  • Build multiple named watch lists (Regulars, Friends, Mods) and point any column at one
  • Collect the comments worth keeping into a window you can open and copy to share

Your account (Google sign-in)

  • Load, search and sort your YouTube subscriptions and jump to a channel’s live stream
  • Reply to messages in the live chat as you
  • Moderator tools — delete, time-out (5 min) or ban — when you own or moderate the stream
  • Use your own YouTube API key so chats read on your quota instead of the shared pool
  • Per-account private data, least-privilege permissions, and a one-time opt-in before any posting/moderation access

Personalise

  • Selectable colour themes — light, dark, classic and high-contrast
  • Zoom in/out for low-resolution screens, remembered across restarts

Benefits

  • Actually follow a fast live chat instead of watching it scroll away
  • Never miss the questions the streamer should answer
  • Cut the spam without missing the real discussion
  • Watch several filtered views at once from one dashboard
  • Moderate and reply without leaving the app you read chat in
  • Read on your own quota with your own API key when you need to

Release history

  1. v1.0.8build 11 · 2026-08-27 · android, windows, web

    - **Fixed: only the first page of comments was loaded, so a video showed far fewer than it has.** A video with 199 comments showed 118 — page one exactly — and the count read as though that were all of them. - **Every page is now loaded**, however many there are, as soon as you open the comments. No pressing a button repeatedly to see your own comment section. - **The banner says what it is doing:** "Loading comments… 118 so far" while it works, then "Showing all 199 comments". Previously it stated a partial count as if it were the total, which is what made the shortfall invisible. - **"Load more" appeared to do nothing.** It was disabled only when finished, not while a fetch was in flight, so pressing it mid-load looked like a dead button. It is now disabled while loading, reads "Load the rest", and loads to the end rather than one page at a time. - A backstop stops runaway paging at 100 pages (~10,000 comments) and says so if it is ever reached, rather than a truncated list quietly claiming to be complete. - **Known limitation, unchanged:** YouTube's comment API returns at most 5 replies per thread, so a thread with more than five replies shows the first five. On the video reported this cost exactly 1 comment out of 199 (one thread had six replies). Fetching the rest needs a separate request per busy thread — not done yet. - **Show highlighted messages on another screen (a “display” link).** While watching, tap the **cast** button → **Send to display**, and pick what it shows (your **flagged** messages or one of your **columns**). Copy the display link, open it in a browser window on any other monitor or device (signed in as the same account), and put the window where you want — it live-shows those messages, large and chrome-free, updating as you flag more. (Same approach as the shop “customer display”: a page that reads a live channel, so it works on any screen without extra apps.) - **Quick-link your channels for analytics.** Channel analytics now shows your **favourite channels** as one-tap chips — tap one to load its stats. And on **Favourite channels** there's a new **import** button that pulls in the channels you watch in **MyYTLiveAlert** as favourites (skipping any you already have), so they’re available across both apps. - **Channel analytics: in-app charts.** The Channel analytics screen gains a **Charts** view: weekly views (total columns + average-per-video line), publishing cadence (videos per week), a views-per-video scatter with a 21-video moving-average trend, and engagement (likes per 1,000 views) — plus a key-stats panel (median views, top-10% view share, average videos/week, duration↔views / views↔likes / views↔comments correlations, top video, and a length-vs-performance table). All computed from the videos you fetch. - **Fixed: Channel analytics returned nothing for some channels.** Entering a channel (including a bare @handle) and tapping Run could come back empty. The video sweep now scans the full window reliably (it no longer stops early on a quirk of the uploads playlist ordering), a running indicator shows while it works, the request is given more time for busy channels, and a timeout now shows a clear message instead of nothing. (Verified: @ATPGeo now returns ~293 videos over 3 months.)

  2. v1.0.7build 9 · 2026-08-24 · android, windows, web

    - **Channel analytics + CSV export (Social Blade-style).** A new **Profile — Channel analytics** ranks any channel — s videos over the last 1 / 3 / 6 / 12 months and exports a spreadsheet. Each video shows **Title, publish date, views, views per day, duration and category**, ranked by views/day (or total views, likes, comments, duration or date). Tap the table icon to copy a CSV and paste it into Excel or Google Sheets. Uses only the official YouTube API; a hyper-prolific channel is safely capped (and the report says so).

  3. v1.0.6build 8 · 2026-08-11 · android, windows, web

    - **Matched words are highlighted in the chat.** When you toggle a topic chip (or type a search term), the matching word is now highlighted inside each message, so it — s obvious why a message matched — even in a long comment. - **Sort a column by likes.** Each column — s settings gains a **Sort** option — — Newest first — (the default) or ** — Most liked — **, which ranks comments by their — count with the most-liked at the top. Great for jumping to the top comments on an ended stream. (Live chat has no likes, so this only reorders the Comments view — a live column stays in arrival order.) - **Topic chips: cleaner suggestions.** The auto topic chips now **ignore chatters — names and IDs automatically** (they get mentioned constantly, so they used to crowd out real topics). You can also **long-press a chip to ignore that word** so it — s never suggested again, and manage the list under **Profile — Ignored words**. Both follow your account across devices. - **Gifted memberships now show a value.** A gifted-membership purchase in the donations report now shows an estimated — (e.g. — Gifted 5 — est. — 19.95 — , 10 — est. — 39.90, at — 3.99 each). It — s shown as a **separate — est. — figure** — kept out of the real Super Chat total, since YouTube provides no actual membership price. - **Estimated annual income.** The donations report now projects a rough annual income from a single live: this session — s takings (Super Chats + the membership estimate) — the channel — s **lives per week** — 52. Set the lives-per-week with a stepper in the report (default 3). It — s a rough guide that assumes the live is typical — e.g. — 55.20 a live — 3/week — 52 — — 8,611/year.

  4. v1.0.5build 7 · 2026-08-06 · android, windows, web

    - **Comments now show their like count.** Each comment and reply in the Comments view displays its — like total, like YouTube. (YouTube — s API doesn — t provide a dislike count or reveal who liked a comment — those aren — t available to any app — so only the like total is shown.) - **Live-alerts admin: capture a channel — s donations automatically.** Turn on **Donations** for a channel in the admin and the server records its Super Chats whenever it goes live — even when no one — s watching in the app — into an admin-only report grouped by supporter. Off by default; captures from go-live onward (a finished stream — s Super Chats can — t be fetched after the fact).

  5. v1.0.4build 6 · 2026-08-04 · android, windows, web

    - **Auto topic chips — filter the chat by what it's actually talking about.** While watching, tap-to-toggle chips appear showing the hottest topics in the live chat right now (e.g. **Trump**, **air defence**, **shaheds**) with a mention count. Tap one — or several — to instantly filter every column to those topics (multiple chips show messages about **any** of them); tap again to clear. The chips are mined live from the chat and refresh as the conversation moves, so there's no set-up. The **search box now sits inline** beside the (now smaller) video-URL field at the top instead of taking its own row. - **Live-alerts admin: see when a channel publishes videos, and poll tighter around it.** A channel's pattern report now has a **"When they publish videos"** heatmap (its usual upload times, separate from go-lives and from scheduled announcements), and the recommended-polling overlay adds an **upload window** band — the poller now tightens a little (~2 min) around a channel's normal release times so **new-video alerts land sooner**. A live window is still always kept tightest, so nothing here can delay a go-live. (Upload times build up from now on.) - **See a chat author's channel id.** Tap any name in chat, comments or the participants list for **Copy channel id** and **Open channel on YouTube**. Two YouTube channels can share the same display name (e.g. a personal channel and a Brand channel), and membership / moderator status / "who posted" are all tied to the channel **id**, not the name — so this lets you tell same-named people apart and understand why a MEMBER badge shows on one but not the other. The help sheet now explains this too. - **Fixed: Windows sign-in when port 8000 is busy.** If another program (e.g. Docker) was using the sign-in port, Google sign-in failed outright. It now tries several ports and uses the first that's free, so sign-in works regardless — with a clear message only if every port is taken.

  6. v1.0.3build 5 · 2026-07-30 · android, windows, web

    - **Live-alerts admin: paint a channel's polling schedule.** On a channel's pattern report, "Edit polling schedule" lets you drag a brush over the weekly grid to set how often each hour is checked (tight / default / relaxed / asleep). It **drives** the real polling — but a live window is always kept tight, and any relaxed/asleep hour where lives actually happen is bumped up to default and **flagged**, so a go-live is never missed. (Owner-only.) - **Live-alerts admin: channel patterns now separate schedules from go-lives.** The channel pattern report distinguishes an **announced (scheduled)** stream from when it **actually went live**, adds a **"When they announce"** heatmap next to "when they go live", and shows each stream's **drift** ("scheduled 11:00 — live 14:00 (+3h late)") plus a per-channel "usually starts ~Xh late" summary. (Owner-only; schedule data is collected from now on.)

  7. v1.0.2build 4 · 2026-07-29 · android, windows, web

    - **Donation reports are now saved per channel and kept.** Super Chats, Super Stickers and memberships you see while watching a channel are stored against that channel and build up over time — they no longer vanish when the stream ends or you close the app, and they follow your account across your devices. A new **"Donation reports"** list on the Watch start screen shows each channel's running — total; tap one to open its full report any time, live or not. **Importing a past stream now totals correctly too:** a downloaded chat replay (yt-dlp *Raw JSON*) now brings in Super Stickers and memberships as well as Super Chats, and its amounts are converted to an approximate — total. *(Note: donations can only be captured while you're watching a live or from a replay you import — YouTube provides no way to fetch a finished stream's Super Chats after the fact.)* - **Live-alerts admin: channel publication patterns.** Each channel now has a **View pattern** report — a weekly "when they go live" heatmap (in your local time), a **recommended-polling overlay** (tight around live windows, relaxed when quiet, with a proposed "asleep — don't poll" band to save quota), a status/cadence strip and a recent-activity timeline. Toggle between **all-time** and **last 30 days** (remembered per device); channel tiles gain a mini activity spark + a "usually live — " summary. The server now records each go-live and upload with a timestamp so the timeline and recent view build up over time. (Owner-only admin.) - **Live-alerts admin: a legend for the channel stats.** A new "?" in the admin top bar explains each channel line — "N on" (users with alerts on), "X live seen" (times caught live, which tunes how often it's checked), "follower(s)" (a legacy count), the refresh-override, and the Vetted marker. The stat line also has a hover/long-press tooltip. (MyYTLiveAlert admin, owner only.) - **Fixed: "Fire test alert" no longer wrongly says "no test-mode devices".** On Windows a test build receives alerts through the in-app alerts feed, not a push token, so the admin tool was reporting "nothing sent" even though the alert did arrive. It now counts both delivery paths and confirms what was reached (e.g. "sent — 1 in-app (incl. Windows)"), with clearer guidance when genuinely no test device is registered. (MyYTLiveAlert admin, owner only.) - **Keep the screen awake while watching (tablets & phones).** A new **Keep screen awake while watching** switch on Profile stops your screen dimming and locking during a live, so a tablet propped up to follow a stream stays on. It only holds the screen on while a live is actually playing (not when idle), to spare the battery, and appears on the web app and the Android install — the two places whose screen locks.

  8. v1.0.1build 1 · 2026-07-25 · android, windows, web

    - **MyYTLiveAlert admin: fire a test alert on demand (owner only).** The **Admin — live alerts** screen gains a **Fire test alert** card — pick a channel and send a **Live**, **Scheduled** or **New video** test notification. Test alerts reach only devices running in test mode; live installs never receive them. - **Donations report — see who gave, grouped by supporter.** A new donations button (with a live count) on a live/replay feed opens a report of every Super Chat and Super Sticker this session, grouped by supporter and ranked by their approximate — total, each expandable to their individual donations. It keeps a complete record even on a long stream (donations are tracked separately from the scrolling chat buffer, so early ones are never lost). Copy it out as a readable summary or as CSV for a spreadsheet. Where a currency can't be converted the — total is shown as a minimum. - **Scroll back without losing your place — and jump to live in one tap.** When you scroll up a column to re-read something, it stops auto-scrolling (as before) but now the column header makes it clear: a quiet " — Live" tag while you're keeping up, switching to a bright " — Live" / " — N new" button the moment you scroll away. Tap it (or scroll back to the bottom) to snap to the newest message and resume following. Shown per column, live chat only. - **Super Chats now show an approximate — value.** A donation in another currency is shown as the original amount plus a rough sterling estimate in brackets — e.g. " — 20.00 ( — 17.24)". Amounts already in pounds are shown as-is. The estimate uses the day's exchange rate (European Central Bank data) and is worked out on our server, so the app itself never calls an outside service. - **Fixed: watch-list columns now filter straight away after opening a channel with a saved layout.** Previously a Watch-list column could show nothing until you edited it, because the layout loaded before your watch lists were ready. Watch-list (and Comments) columns now update the moment your lists load or change — no manual re-select needed. - **MyYTLiveAlert admin (owner only).** A new **Admin — live alerts** entry on Profile lets the owner vet channels, override each channel's refresh rate and watch the isolated YouTube quota pool for the new MyYTLiveAlert app — hosted here so there's no separate admin site. Server-side admin-claim gated. - **Live alerts in Tamer (opt-in, groundwork).** Added a self-contained consumer so Tamer can also alert you when a followed YouTuber goes live (same shared backend + FCM topics; zero extra YouTube quota). Not yet enabled in boot — pending a device push test against the deployed backend. - **Admin: see who's using the app (owner only).** An **Admin — app users** entry on Profile (visible only to the app owner) lists everyone who's signed in — name, email, when they joined and when they last signed in — with a total + active-in-last-24h/7d/30d summary, plus search and sort. It reads from the secure backend; no one but the owner can access it. - **Privacy: user profiles are no longer visible to everyone.** Previously any signed-in user could read every user's profile; now you can only see your own and your friends' (including pending requests). No change to how you add friends. - **Save a live chat and reopen it later.** While watching, tap the new **Save** (bookmark) button in the top bar to keep the chat you've received; when a stream ends, the app also offers to save it. Saved chats appear under **"Saved chats"** on the Watch start screen — tap one to reopen it instantly, no re-watching or re-downloading. Saved chats are kept on the device you saved them on (the list is visible on your other devices, but the messages stay local).

  9. v1.0.0build 17 · 2026-07-20 · android, windows, web

    - **Donations & memberships stand out.** Super Chats and Super Stickers now show as a coloured card with the amount (colour rising with the donation, like YouTube — blue through to red), and new/gifted/milestone memberships show as a green membership card. A new **"Paid & members"** column filter shows only those, so you can keep an eye on donations and members at a glance. - **Watch videos inside the Windows app.** Non-live videos (and lives) now play in-app on Windows, not just on the web — via the built-in Windows web view. - **Fixed: posting no longer fails with "session expired."** On Windows the app now quietly refreshes your Google token as needed, so replying/posting keeps working through a long session without asking you to sign in again. - **Reply box no longer doubles the "@".** Replying now pre-fills a single "@name". - **Version & contact in the Help sheet too.** The app version and support email now appear at the bottom of the Help (?) sheet as well as on Profile.

  10. v1.0.0build 16 · 2026-07-18 · android, windows, web

    - **Fixed: Google sign-in on the Windows app (properly this time).** The Windows app now signs in reliably — it fetches a fresh Google token each time and shows Google's account/channel picker, so you can pick which channel to use (handy if you have a Brand channel). Earlier builds could fail with "credential — expired"; that's resolved. - **Version & contact on the sign-in screen**, centred to match the layout — the app version/build and a tappable support email are shown before you sign in.

  11. v1.0.0build 15 · 2026-07-18 · android, windows, web

    - **See all of a favourite channel's videos — no YouTube needed.** Tapping a favourite now opens its full video list (Videos / Lives tabs) instead of only looking for a live stream; the — button on the row still jumps straight to the live chat. "See all videos" is also on every channel's " — " menu (favourites and subscriptions). The list now **loads more automatically as you scroll** to the bottom, so you can browse the whole back-catalogue without repeatedly tapping "Load more". - **Watch non-live videos in the app.** Opening a normal (non-live) video now plays it in the same movable player used for live — **mini / quarter / full** sizes plus pop-out — floating over the comments, so you can size it how you like and still read and use the comments (mini leaves them fully accessible). Resizing keeps it playing (no restart); the video button in the top bar shows/hides it. (Inline playback is web-only; on Windows/Android use pop-out.) - **Fixed: the video no longer restarts when you open a menu or edit a column.** While a pop-up is open the player just shrinks to a corner (it stays playing) instead of closing and reloading, so you never lose your place. - **Fixed: adding a Comments column could overwrite an existing one.** New comment columns now always get a unique id, so adding a third/fourth column no longer replaces one you already had. (Existing layouts are unaffected.)

  12. v1.0.0build 14 · 2026-07-17 · android, windows, web

    - **Fixed: the column editor is no longer blocked by the video.** With the embedded video showing, opening "Edit column" put the editor behind the video, so tapping **Save** hit the video (pausing it) instead. The video now steps aside while any pop-up (edit column, layout menu, participants, etc.) is open, and returns when you close it.

  13. v1.0.0build 13 · 2026-07-17 · android, windows, web

    - **Fixed: Google sign-in on the Windows app.** The previous Windows build couldn't sign in ("Windows sign-in is not configured") because it was built without its sign-in credentials. This build restores it — sign in with Google works again on Windows. (Android and web were unaffected.)

  14. v1.0.0build 11 · 2026-07-16 · android, windows, web

    - **New: Presenter's Script.** A new **Script** tab lets you read a video's spoken words as a timestamped script you can scroll, search (from 3 letters) and copy — handy for finding a quote or following along. YouTube's API won't give an app the captions of a video you don't own, so (just like chat replay) you download them yourself with a free tool: the tab shows the exact one-line yt-dlp command, then you load the subtitle file (json3, srv3, .vtt or .srt). Auto-generated captions are cleaned up so you don't see the same words repeated as they scroll. Recent scripts are remembered and follow your account. - **Search no longer freezes on the first letter.** In a long chat or comment feed, the search box used to run a full scan on every keystroke, janking on the first character. It now waits until you've typed at least 3 letters (and briefly after you stop typing) before filtering, so it stays smooth. - **Hide messages from someone.** Tap a name (in chat, comments, or the participants list) and choose **Hide messages from this person** — their messages and comments disappear from every column, live and comments. It's remembered and syncs with your account. Unhide from the same menu, or review everyone you've hidden under **Profile — Hidden users**. - **Moderators are now recognised in comments too.** YouTube doesn't tell apps who a moderator is on comments — but it does in live chat. So the app now remembers the mods it sees in a channel's live chat and colours those same people blue (with the — ) in that channel's comments and participant list, and matches them with the "Mods" filter. It only knows mods you've actually seen moderating live; the remembered list follows your account across devices. - **Your settings now follow your account across devices.** Favourites, watch lists, keyword filters, dashboard + comment columns, saved layouts, scheduled messages, watched videos and history are now synced to your Google account (via the app's own secure cloud), so signing in on the web, Windows or Android shows the same data — and it can't be lost to a browser/profile reset. Changes on one device appear on another within seconds. The app still works offline (local-first); the cloud just keeps everything in step. Device-specific things (your YouTube API key, zoom level, cached lists) deliberately stay local. - **Browse a channel properly: Videos / Lives tabs + stats.** Opening a channel from the menu now shows a header (avatar, name, subscribers, video count, and live now / next / last live) and splits its videos into **Videos** and **Lives** tabs, with running lives highlighted. Each tile shows how long ago it was posted and a **Watched** marker for anything you've opened; **search** and a **Watched / Unwatched / All** filter narrow the list (no quota cost). ("Watched" means opened in this app — YouTube's API can't share your real watch history; you can also mark videos watched/unwatched yourself.) - **Favourite a channel from the menu.** Each channel row in the slide-out menu now has a — to favourite/unfavourite it — favourites jump to the top. - **Split the Owner/Mods filter.** The old "Owner & mods" column filter is now three: **Owner**, **Mods**, and **Owner & mods**. In the Comments view the **creator's** own comments are now correctly gold-highlighted and matched by the Owner filter (moderators aren't identifiable for comments via YouTube's API, so they aren't marked there). - **Add a new watch list on the spot.** When adding someone to a watch list, a **"New list — "** option creates a list and adds them in one step. - **Find videos without leaving the app.** A new slide-in menu (the — hamburger, top-left) works like YouTube's sidebar: **Home** shows recent videos across your favourite + subscribed channels (live ones first); **Subscriptions** lists your channels with your favourites pinned to the top ("Show more" to see the rest); **You** has your own channel and a **History** of videos you've opened. Tap a channel to browse its recent videos, tap a video to open it — live goes to Watch, ended to Comments. No more copying URLs from YouTube. It uses cheap lookups (not costly keyword search), so it barely touches quota. - **One-tap column for a person.** In "who's in the chat / who commented", tap a name — **Open in a new column** and choose **Only their comments** or **Their conversation** (their comments + ones that @mention them). The column is added to that screen's own layout (wide on the Comments tab). Works on both Watch and Comments. - **Reply to comments (Comments tab).** The reply button on a comment now posts a real reply to that comment on YouTube (as you, on your own quota) and shows it straight away under the comment. A "Replying as — " line shows which channel it posts as, with the same Switch-channel option as live chat (Windows can pick your Brand channel; web uses your default). Replying to a reply attaches to the top-level comment, matching how YouTube threads comments. - **New Comments tab — read a video's comments properly.** A dedicated screen (separate from live chat) shows any video's comments in wider columns tuned for reading, not the narrow live-chat layout. Replies nest under their comment; a header toggle shows/hides all replies, and each comment with replies has a "N replies" you can expand or collapse on its own. Filter, search and add people just like live chat. Its columns are saved separately, so tweaking the Comments layout never touches your live dashboard. - **Ended streams open in Comments automatically.** Paste a video anywhere: a currently-live one opens in **Watch** (live chat); an ended/past one opens in **Comments**. Imported chat-replay files still load into the Watch screen.

  15. v1.0.0build 10 · 2026-07-14 · android, windows, web

    - **Post as your Brand channel (Windows).** "Switch channel" on the chat composer now opens Google's account/channel picker on the Windows app, so you can choose which channel your comments, replies, likes and subscriptions are attributed to (e.g. your Brand channel rather than a personal one). You stay signed in — only the YouTube channel changes — and "Posting as — " updates to the one you picked. On the web this isn't possible (Google's web sign-in has no channel picker); the app now explains that and points you to the Windows app.

  16. v1.0.0build 9 · 2026-07-14 · android, windows, web

    - **All your subscriptions now load, not just the first few.** The subscriptions list used to stop after one page; it now pages through every channel you follow. A banner shows which channel they belong to — if the count looks low, your Google login is on a different channel (often a Brand Account); use "Switch channel" to change it. - **Channel & people icons.** Your subscriptions, favourite-channel chips and watch-list members now show real pictures. Anyone seen in a chat (or in your subscriptions) is remembered, so their icon appears next to their name in your watch lists and favourites.

  17. v1.0.0build 8 · 2026-07-14 · android, windows, web

    - **Roles at a glance by name colour.** The channel creator now shows in gold with a — badge, moderators in blue with a — spanner, and paying channel members in green with a MEMBER badge — in the chat and in the participants list. (YouTube doesn't reveal plain, non-paying subscribers to apps, so those aren't marked.) - **A — Z jump fixed.** Tapping a letter in the "who's in the chat" list now works — names that start with "@" are indexed on their first real letter, so the whole A — Z bar is usable again (previously everything bucketed under "#"). - **Layouts for imported transcripts.** You can now save a dashboard layout for a loaded chat replay — save it as the "transcript default" and it auto-applies every time you import one, just like per-channel layouts do for live streams. - **Recent transcripts.** Imported replays are remembered on the Watch tab so you can reopen one in a tap (you re-pick the file, since it stays on your device — nothing large is stored in the app). Forget any with — . - **Close button on "Add to watch lists".** The add-to-list popup (and the tap-a-name menu) now has a clear — to dismiss it.

  18. v1.0.0build 7 · 2026-07-14 · android, windows, web

    - **Get the REAL chat history of an ended stream — import a replay.** YouTube's official API can't give any app the live-chat replay of a finished stream, so we can't fetch it for you. But you can download it yourself with a free tool: on the Watch tab tap **"Import a chat replay — "** for the exact one-line command (yt-dlp) that saves a stream's chat to a file, then pick that file to filter, thread, sort and search it exactly like a live chat. The file never leaves your device — this keeps the app within YouTube's rules while still getting you the full chat. - **Comment replies now show as replies.** On an ended stream's comments view, replies appear indented under the comment they answer, with a " — replying to — " label — so a back-and-forth reads as a conversation, not a flat list. The banner also shows how many comments have loaded. - **Build watch lists any time — no live needed.** Open a list under Profile — Watch lists and **Add people**: type any username to add them, or pick from suggestions drawn from your subscriptions. Set your lists up before a stream starts, not just by tapping names during a live. - **Your watch lists & filters are safe across sign-in/out.** Fixed a bug where signing out (or an auth hiccup) could wipe your saved watch-list members and keyword filters. Saves are now guarded so a sign-out can never overwrite your stored data, and an empty state can't clobber a populated one. - **See which account you're signed in as.** The header now shows your Google account (avatar + name). Watch lists, filters and favourites are stored per account, so this makes it obvious when you've switched accounts (which used to look like your data had vanished). Tap it for Profile / sign out.

    - **Open an ended stream too.** Paste a past live's URL and the app now shows that video's comments through the same filters, columns and search — the closest thing to chat replay, since YouTube doesn't provide live-chat replay through its official API. Posting controls are hidden (it's read-only); a "Load more" button fetches further comments. - **Save dashboard layouts per channel.** Arrange your columns, filters and sizes, then save that set-up as a named layout — and bind it to a channel so it loads automatically next time you watch them. Apply a layout to another channel, tweak it, and re-save; an amber dot flags unsaved changes. Manage them under Profile — Layout presets. - **Post your own comment.** A "Say something — " bar at the bottom of the chat lets you post to the live chat directly — not just reply to someone. - **See (and switch) which channel you post as.** The composer shows the channel your comments are attributed to; "Switch channel" signs you out so you can pick the right account/channel at Google's prompt (YouTube posts as your Google login's channel — often a Brand Account — and the app can't override it, so this lets you choose). - **See who's in the chat.** A new people icon on the Watch header opens an A — Z list of everyone who's posted — search by name or tap a letter to jump, see who's the owner/a moderator, and tap anyone to add them to a watch list. - **Read back without being yanked.** Scrolling up through the chat no longer snaps you to the newest message when new ones arrive — it only follows the live feed while you're at the bottom. - **Video sits bottom-right.** The embedded player now docks in the bottom-right corner at every size except Full (matching Mini), out of the way of the chat. - **New app icon.** MyYouTubeTamer now has its own MYTT / My YT Tamer icon.

    - **Works out of the box — no local setup.** The app now talks to a hosted backend by default, so installed builds (Windows/Android) read live chat without you running anything locally. - **Sign in on Windows.** The Windows desktop app can now sign in with Google — it opens your browser, you approve, and it drops you straight back into the app. (Previously Windows sign-in failed; web and Android were unaffected.)

    - **One-tap favourites on the Watch tab.** Your favourite channels now appear as quick chips right on the Watch screen while you're not watching anything — tap one to jump straight into its live chat, no digging through Profile. A — button checks which favourites are live right now (only when you ask, so it never burns quota in the background). - **Clear chat.** A new Clear button (and a banner when a live has ended) wipes the current feed and returns you to a clean screen — ready for the next stream, with your favourites one tap away. - **Like the stream you're watching.** Tap — in the Watch header (or on the video window) to like — or un-like — the current live video. Turn on **Auto-like streams** (Profile) to like every video automatically as you open it. Uses your own YouTube account and quota. - **Subscribe & unsubscribe from the app.** Use the — menu on Profile — My subscriptions or Favourites (or the subscribe button on the video window) to subscribe to or leave a channel — no need to open YouTube. - **Scheduled auto-messages.** Set up messages that post to the live chat for you while you watch — either **repeating** (e.g. "Remember to like!" every 10 minutes) or **once** at a set time into the stream (e.g. a welcome at 2 minutes). Manage them under Profile — **Scheduled messages**, then arm them for a stream with the — button in the Watch header. There's a live "next post" countdown, a minimum 60-second interval to avoid spam, and they stop automatically the moment you pause, stop, or leave — so nothing posts behind your back. - **Now on its own Firebase project.** MyYouTubeTamer moved to a dedicated `my-youtube-tamer` project for sign-in and shared data, so its settings can't affect the other Burlea apps. - **Friends.** Share a friend code (Profile — Friends) to connect with people you know; accept their requests and see each other in your friends list. - **See what friends are watching.** While watching a stream, tap **Share this feed** to let your friends see it; tap the people icon to open **What friends are watching** and jump straight into a friend's live chat. Sharing is always opt-in and friends-only. - **Share pertinent comments.** In the flagged-comments window, **Share with friends** pushes your kept comments to a live window your friends can read. - **Check who's live.** On Favourite channels, tap **Check who's live** to see which of your favourites are streaming right now (on-demand, so it only uses quota when you ask). - **No more repeated Google prompts.** Loading your subscriptions (and using reply/moderation) now reuses your existing Google session instead of asking you to sign in and grant permission every time. - **Search & sort your subscriptions.** The subscriptions list now has a search box and an A — Z / Z — A sort, and you can — any subscribed channel straight into your favourites. - **Use your own YouTube API key.** Add your own key (Profile — My YouTube API key) and your live chats are read on your quota instead of the app's shared pool — handy if the shared quota runs low. - **Pertinent comments.** Tap the flag on any message to collect the comments worth keeping into a window you can open from the header, then copy them to share. (Live sharing with friends is coming next.) - **Profile shows your YouTube identity.** The Profile tab now shows your Google account photo and name, with a "My channel" action to show your real YouTube channel name, @handle and avatar (fetched once, then remembered). - **Subscriptions are cached.** Your subscriptions load instantly from a saved copy instead of being pulled from YouTube every time — refresh on demand with the — button. Saves quota and time. - **Your data is now private to your account.** Watch lists, columns, custom filters, favourites, zoom and settings are stored per signed-in user — signing in as someone else on the same device no longer shows the previous person's data. Signing out clears it from view. - **Least-privilege permissions.** Reading your subscriptions now asks YouTube only for **read-only** access (not the broad account permission). Reply and moderator tools are now behind a one-time **Posting & moderation** opt-in (Profile) that explains what the permission is used for before it's requested — so if you only read chat, you're never asked for YouTube access. - **Embedded video window.** Watch the stream inside the app ( — in the header): quarter-screen by default, or switch to mini / fill, pop out to a browser tab, or close it. - **My subscriptions.** Load your YouTube subscriptions (Profile — My subscriptions) and jump to any subscribed channel's live stream. - **Moderator tools.** Long-press a message for Delete / Time-out (5 min) / Ban — works when you're the owner or a moderator of that stream (tells you if not). - **Stop / resume the live feed.** A stop button pauses the feed (and stops using quota); resume to pick it back up. - **Header navigation + zoom.** Watch/Profile moved into the top bar (bigger chat area), with a zoom — /+ for low-resolution screens (saved). - **Search the chat.** Find a user or comment quickly across every column. - **Split a column into 2 or 4 tiles** from the column — menu — instant stacked views, each independently filterable. Column width and per-cell height stay configurable too. - **Favourite channels.** Save channels and jump straight to their current live stream (Profile — Favourite channels). - **Steadier live feed.** The feed no longer freezes on a brief network blip or a backend restart — it retries and reconnects automatically. - **Clearer reply.** The reply button is now always visible on each message (highlighted when the chat is live). - **Now on the web.** MyYouTubeTamer runs in the browser at **myyoutubetamer.co.uk** — no install needed. - **First release.** Follow any public YouTube live stream's chat without the chaos: paste a live video URL or id on the **Watch** tab and read the chat through smart filters. - **Saved watch list.** Tap a name — *Add to watch list*. The list is saved and survives restarts; the **Watch list** filter shows only those people, who are marked with a — . - **Custom keyword filters.** Create your own *"messages containing — "* filters from the **+ Filter** chip; they're saved and removable. - **Selectable text.** Message text can be selected and copied. - **Multi-column dashboard.** Monitor one live chat through several side-by-side columns at once, each with its own filter (All, Questions, Owner & mods, a Watch list, hide spam, or a keyword). Add, edit, remove and **drag to reorder** columns (grab the — handle in a column's header); your layout is saved. - **Configurable layout.** Set each column's **width** (Narrow / Normal / Wide, or a fine slider), and stack **multiple cells** in one column — each its own filtered view at **Full / Half / Quarter height** (or a slider). e.g. one column showing Questions on top and a Watch list beneath. - **Multiple named watch lists.** Create as many lists as you like (e.g. Regulars, Friends, Mods), manage them under Profile — Watch lists, and point a column at any one of them. Tap a name to tick which list(s) they belong to. - **Reply to messages.** Tap — on a message to reply in the live chat as you (asks once for permission to post to YouTube on your behalf). - **Filter the noise.** Show only questions, only the owner and moderators, or hide emote-only and one-word spam with a single toggle. - **Focus on a topic.** Tap a topic chip (audio, video, PC specs, how-to, pricing) to see just that thread of the conversation. - **Follow a person.** Tap anyone's name or avatar to follow them — the chat then shows only their messages and the replies aimed at them (@mentions), so you can read one person's conversation without the surrounding noise. - **Follow threads.** Replies that @mention someone are grouped together, and late joiners start from the latest messages rather than the whole backlog. - **Themes.** Light, dark, classic and high-contrast, remembered across restarts.
